Accessibility statement
We want everyone to be able to use this website: to read about our work, find our phone number and send us a request, whatever device or assistive technology you use.
Our target
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
How we build and test the site
- Plain pages. Each page has one main heading, headings in order, landmarks, and a "skip to content" link. Text and buttons meet WCAG color contrast, and the keyboard focus is always visible.
- Every image has a text description of what it shows. The site has no moving carousels, no pop-ups and nothing that plays on its own.
- The request form has a visible label on every field, says which fields are required and which are optional, and explains any error in words, with a suggestion for fixing it. It works without JavaScript.
- On phones, the call and request bar at the bottom of the screen hides while you're typing in the form, so it never covers the field you're in.
- Testing. We reviewed the site against WCAG 2.2 level AA on the date below, including keyboard-only use of every page and the request form, and we recheck pages when they change.
- No overlay widget. We don't use accessibility overlay plug-ins. We'd rather build the pages to work properly in the first place.
Known limits
- Any document we post as a PDF also has its own web page, except our capability statement for public agencies. If you need that information in another format, ask and we'll send it.
- Some of our project photos are older phone pictures, so they may be small. Their text descriptions say what each one shows.
