Flooring installation in Skagit, Snohomish, Island and Whatcom Counties

New floors change how a room feels. We install laminate and luxury vinyl plank, one room or a whole house, and we take care of the parts nobody sees: a clean, solid subfloor, the right underlayment, and baseboards that finish the edge.

What this covers

  • Laminate plank flooring
  • Luxury vinyl plank and vinyl tile
  • Subfloor repair and replacement
  • Underlayment
  • Baseboards and trim, removed, painted and reinstalled
  • Flooring as part of a remodel or a room rebuild

How we handle a flooring job

At the site visit we look at the subfloor, not just the old floor. Soft spots, squeaks, old water damage and uneven areas show through a new floor if they aren't fixed first. We measure the rooms, talk through materials, and write a scope room by room: what comes up, what gets repaired, what goes down, and how the edges and doorways are finished.

A room-by-room scope also makes it easy to compare bids. We do the same thing ourselves: on a new home we're managing in Stanwood, we compared written bids from seven flooring contractors side by side before choosing one.

During the work we move through the house in an order we agree on with you, and we keep the work area clean. If we find damage under the old floor, we show you before the work changes, and the change goes in a signed change order. At the end we walk the floors with you.

Work we've done

  • Whole-house laminate flooring

    Sedro-Woolley · 2020

Installed about 915 sq ft of laminate plank flooring over new underlayment through the bedrooms, closets, living and dining rooms, hallway and laundry room, then reinstalled freshly painted baseboards.

    • About 915 sq ft of 7 mm grey-oak laminate planks
    • Subfloor cleaned and prepped, with underlayment laid before the planks
    • Baseboards painted and reinstalled for a clean finished edge
  • New gray vinyl plank floor with fresh white baseboard in an empty bedroom

    Bedroom rebuild and rental repairs

Burlington and Mount Vernon · 2021–2023

Rebuilt a bedroom in a rental home and replaced an apartment ceiling, as part of several years of repair work for the same landlord.

    • Bedroom rebuilt: insulation, drywall, subfloor and about 220 sq ft of new flooring
    • Apartment ceiling replaced with new drywall, then taped, textured and primed
    • Smaller fixes along the way, such as a broken window
  • Front entry of a new home with a cedar porch ceiling, recessed light, board-and-batten siding and composite steps, Stanwood

    Custom home, Stanwood, in progress

    Stanwood · 2026

Project management for an owner-builder's new custom home in Stanwood. We schedule and coordinate the trades, compare bids, check every contractor's license, bond and insurance before award, and line up the inspections the construction-loan draws depend on.

    • Written purchase orders and change orders for each trade
    • Competing bids scored side by side before awards (seven bidders for the flooring alone)
    • Inspections and lender draw requests sequenced to keep the work moving

Questions people ask

Laminate or vinyl plank: which should I choose?

Both are popular choices. Vinyl plank is usually the better pick where floors get wet, like bathrooms, laundry rooms and entries. Laminate often feels firmer underfoot in bedrooms and living areas. At the site visit we'll talk through how you use each room.

Can you fix the subfloor too?

Yes. Repairing or replacing damaged subfloor is part of the job when it's needed, like the bedroom rebuild above. We'll show you what we find.

Can you do just one room?

Yes. One bedroom or a whole house, the process is the same: a site visit, a written scope, and a walkthrough at the end.
